My name is Rochelle Cruz, my students calls me "Teacher Rotchie". I have been teaching for more than 5 years. I spent a year teaching personality development and English Language in my home country - the Philippines. In the last 4 years, I expanded my teaching profession in a multi-cultural setting as a Pre-school and Montessori Teacher in language centers, international and public schools in Vietnam.
I studied Bachelors in Elementary Education before I shifted and graduated a baccalaureate degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I am also trained in Montessori teaching method in Vietnam, and passed the TESOL (Teaching English for the Speakers of other Languages) Certification as an endeavor for my career in education.
In my classroom, the usual number of students ranges from a minimum of 10 to a maximum 30.
My biggest pet peeve in teaching is when the organizational culture of the educational institution does not provide an enabling and caring environment to support the emotional and mental well-being needed to be an effective teacher. Sensitivity is a core value of Montessori teaching and it is important for educational institutions to walk the talk in taking good care of teacher's well-being.
My philosophy in life is: "A person who is a master of Patience, is a master of everything else."
