  • PAT CRUZ

    Pat Cruz, artivist. Pat connects her two great passions, the environment and the arts through her nonprofit work. Pat was elected chair of the Maryland Green Party in the US and served two terms. As a teacher, Pat helped to pilot a “Reading through the Arts” program that significantly raised student achievement at two high poverty schools. In 2005 Pat joined Arts for Learning Maryland. As Chief Innovation Officer, Pat directed Teaching Artist PD programs and school district partnerships for over 13 years. She has been recognized as an “Outstanding Arts Educator” and “Visionary Leader” by the Maryland Association of Art Educators and recently received a “Distinguished Service to the Field” recognition from the Teaching Artist Guild. Pat holds a Bachelor's in Art Education and Master’s in Teaching from George Mason University.

    Sangeeta Isvaran is an Indian Bharatanatyam dancer, research scholar, and social worker. She has been awarded with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, the highest national award for young dancers. Founder of Katradi https://www.katradi.org/About.html

2025 ARTIVIST RETREAT Itinerary

Dream.Envision.Innovate

The Plan: Bring together amazing change agents from across the globe to our retreat center in the heart of the french countryside. We will gather together for four days of dreaming, planning, and creating arts integrated strategies to develop eco-arts projects that can spread across the globe.

On Saturday 6th of September - we will “pilot” our ideas at a community ECO-ARTS Festival. After the retreat we will implement our projects in our own communities. We will continue to collaborate and support each other’s work through follow-up zoom reunions. (NOTE: check out is 7 September)

Please note: the following itinerary may change based on the needs of the participants.

WEDNESDAY, 3 September

Meet in at Moulin SAGE in Treignac, France by 12 NOON for welcome lunch & introductions, orientation, opening sessions, check-in to rooms and rest in hammocks, dinner in the garden, open mic

THURSDAY, 4 September

optional dance/meditation, breakfast, BIG DREAMS discussions, envision and planning sessions, lunch at lake beach, project collaboration discussions at the beach, nature walk to roman ruins, rest, dinner, reflections by the fire pit, night hike and star gazing

FRIDAY, 5 September

optional dance/meditation, breakfast, dreams to reality envision and planning sessions, lunch, project/performance planning and rehearsal, dinner, evening stroll, rest

SATURDAY, 6 September

optional dance/meditation, breakfast, prep for festival, ECO-ARTS Fest (2-3 hrs), clean up, reflections, next steps, party

SUNDAY, 7 September

Breakfast and check out

COST INCLUDES:

  • Retreat sessions, walking tours, yoga, dance, and meditation

  • Accommodations in shared apt for 4 nights (3 guests per apartment)
